What are the types of particleboard classification? Particleboard is not a finished product, it is a raw material. You can made it from wood or other lignocellulosic material made of scraps, that you can process it to produce a wood-based panel. So what kinds of particleboard are classified? Here’s a look at the introduction of particleboard classification.

Particleboard classification
1.According to the use: A class particle board and B class particle board.
2.According to the structure of particle board: a. Single-layer structure particle board; b. Three-layer structure particle board; c. Gradual structure particle board; d. Oriented particle board; e. Waffle particle board; f. Moulded particle board.
3.According to the surface condition:
Unfinished particle board: a. sanded particle board; b. unsanded particle board.
Finished chipboard: a. impregnated paper finished chipboard; b. decorative laminate finished chipboard; c. veneer finished chipboard; d. surface coated chipboard; e. PVC finished chipboard, etc..
4.According to the raw materials used: a. wood chipboard; b. bagasse chipboard; c. flax chipboard; d. cotton straw chipboard; e. bamboo chipboard, etc.; f. cement chipboard; g. gypsum chipboard.
5.According to the manufacturing method: a. Flat-pressed particle board; b. Extruded particle board.

A detailed description of the particleboard classification
Flat pressed chipboard: the pressure applied is perpendicular to the surface of the board and the arrangement of the chips is parallel to the surface of the board. According to its structure, you can also divide them into single-layer, three-layer and gradient. Extruded chipboard: the pressure applied is parallel to the surface of the board. But acording to its structure you can divide them into solid boards and tubular hollow boards.
Iin addition, particleboard is divided by surface shape into: pressed particleboard, sanded or particleboard, decorated particleboard and veneer. Pressed chipboard: hot pressed and formed without any surface treatment. Sanded or particleboard: the surface is mechanically sanded or flaked. Finished chipboard: surface decoration with materials other than veneer; veneered chipboard: finish with rotary cut or shaved veneer.
People also is divide particleboard by product into 3 types: low density (0.25 to 0.45 g/cm3), medium density (0.45 to 0.60 g/cm3) and high density (0.60 to 1.3 g/cm3). However, most of the boards produced are particle boards with a density of 0.60 to 0.70 g/cm3. According to the structure of the slab, there are also three types of structure: single-layer, three-layer (including multi-layer) and gradient. Water resistance is divided into indoor water resistance and outdoor water resistance. There are also two types of particleboard: oriented and random, depending on the arrangement of the particle in the slab. In addition, there are also various particle boards made of non-wood materials such as cotton straw, hemp straw, bagasse, rice husk, etc., as well as cement wood wool boards and cement particle boards made of inorganic gluing materials.
